A remote work seminar is scheduled for February but it’s not too early to start paying attention to this facet of the Rural Online Initiative (ROI). Although the event is scheduled for February 24th you or someone you know may already be aware of the need for this program.
The purpose of the Rural Online Initiative Program is to provide Utah’s rural workforce and businesses with education, training and services for online opportunities in remote employment, freelance work, and e-commerce. In San Juan County, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Blanding has been dilligent in pushing out these trainings and services.
This seminar is for anyone 17 years of age or older but you must have prior work experience. Sponsored by Utah State University Extension, the event will explore your options in work from home opportunities as well as explain some of the skills you should be gaining to make the jump to remote work.
Unemployment and economic shutdowns have created an unusually high level of uncertainty in today’s job market. Risks associated with face to face interactions have made it much more common for workers to explore options that allow for them to work from the safety of their own home.
The seminar is free and is scheduled for Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 6 to 7pm. It is an online event that you can register for in advance at this link. Remote Work Seminar: Tools For Success.
